Terms of Service

Last updated 20 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and ORBLINK Ltd. Liability Company, a limited liability company formed in the State of Wyoming, United States ("ORBLINK", "we", "us"). They cover the ORBLINK mobile app and this website at orblink.id. By creating an identity in the app or using the site, you accept them.

1. What we provide

ORBLINK is a mobile application that creates a cryptographic identity in your device, lets you prove facts about yourself, lets you exchange end-to-end encrypted messages and calls with people you have connected to, and lets you attach a proof of identity to a payment you authorise. The features page describes what the app does today. We add and change features over time, and we may discontinue a feature; where a change is material we will say so in the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use ORBLINK, and old enough in your country to form a binding contract. If you use ORBLINK on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

3. Your identity, your keys, your responsibility

ORBLINK is built so that we do not hold your keys. That is the point of it, and it has a consequence you must accept before you rely on the app:

  • Your private key is generated inside your device's secure hardware and cannot be exported from it. We have no copy.
  • We cannot read your messages, recover your message history, or restore your identity. There is no master key and no administrative override.
  • If you lose your device and every recovery route you set up, your identity and its history are gone. Set up recovery before you need it.
  • You are responsible for keeping your recovery phrase, passphrase and any recovery shares safe, and for the security of the device itself.

4. Acceptable use

Privacy is not cover for harm. You agree not to use ORBLINK to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else break it;
  • harass, threaten, stalk, defraud or impersonate any person;
  • send or request sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexually exploits a child — we report this to the authorities;
  • distribute malware, or attack, probe or overload our services;
  • send bulk unsolicited messages, or operate a service that resells access to ORBLINK;
  • attempt to use the footprint feature, or any other feature, to obtain information about a person other than yourself;
  • reverse-engineer our services in order to defeat the security of another person's account, or circumvent a limit we have set.

We may suspend or terminate access to our services for a breach of this section. Because we cannot read your messages, enforcement is based on reports, on abuse of the service itself, and on legal process — not on surveillance of your content.

5. Your content

What you send stays yours. You grant us only the narrow, technical permission needed to carry it: to transmit and briefly store the encrypted form of your messages and attachments so they can reach the person you sent them to. We claim no ownership of your content and no licence to use it for anything else. We could not read it if we wanted to.

6. Paid features and app-store billing

Some features, including the identity check and certain subscriptions, are paid. They are sold and billed through the app store you installed ORBLINK from, under that store's payment terms. Prices are shown before you confirm. Refunds and cancellations are handled by the store according to its policy and your local law; where a store does not grant a refund you believe is due, write to us and we will look at it.

Where ORBLINK carries a proof alongside a payment you make to a merchant, the payment itself is a transaction between you, your wallet or card provider, and that merchant. We are not a party to it, we do not hold your funds, and we are not a payment processor or a money transmitter. Disputes about goods or charges are between you and the merchant.

7. Identity verification

An identity check is optional. It is performed by our verification provider, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome: a check can fail for reasons neither you nor we control, including the quality of a photograph or the provider's coverage of your document type. A credential issued after a check states what was verified at that time and nothing more. How those images are handled is set out in the Privacy Policy.

8. Availability

We provide the service as it is and as it is available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, that a message will always be delivered, or that a call will always connect. ORBLINK is not an emergency service and must not be relied on to contact emergency services.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither we nor our suppliers are liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of an identity or its history. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty United States dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms or of the law.

12. Ending the agreement

You may stop using ORBLINK at any time, and delete the app, which removes the identity and the data held on your device. You can ask us to delete any server-side records as described in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice where we can.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will update the date at the top, and for material changes we will give notice in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use ORBLINK after that means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep any right you have under your local law to bring a claim in your own courts and to the protection of your own country's mandatory consumer law. Before filing anything, please write to us; most things are faster to fix than to litigate.

15. Miscellaneous

If a provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the service.
