Safety

Know who you're talking to. Keep out who you're not.

Private doesn't mean unprotected. ORBLINK is built so strangers can't reach you, impostors can't fool you, and you're always one tap from blocking someone.

A safety code on every call

Both phones work out the same code from both keys. If the codes match, you're talking to the person you think you are. A cloned voice on another phone can't produce it.

InvitationQR code

Invitation only

Nobody can message you unless you accepted their invitation. ORBLINK never matches you with strangers.

Directory listing

Unfindable by default

You only appear in the directory if you choose to. Remove your listing any time.

A safety number for every chat

Read it out loud to each other once, and you'll know nobody is sitting in the middle.

Kept 7 days

Disappearing by agreement

You can't be opted into keeping a chat longer than you chose.

Block and report

If someone you've connected with is abusive, you can block them and report the conversation from inside the app.

  1. Open the chat and tap their name.
  2. Tap Block. They can no longer message or call you.
  3. Tap Report and choose the messages to include. Because we can't read your chats, the messages you choose are the only ones we see.

We review reports within two business days and act under our community guidelines, which can include removing directory listings and suspending identities. You can also write to support@orbis.id.

If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services. ORBLINK is not an emergency service.

Spotting scams

  • Someone you know asks for money urgently: check the safety code, then call them back on ORBLINK.
  • A new invitation claims to be from a bank, a delivery company or ORBLINK itself: we never message you inside the app.
  • Anyone asks for your recovery phrase: never share it. Nobody at ORBLINK will ever ask.

Our rules

Privacy is not cover for harm. Our community guidelines and terms of use set out what isn't allowed, including harassment, fraud, impersonation and any content that exploits children, which we report to the authorities.
